Works great with any temp probe but not with a thermopen due to the weight and will not hold it upright.

I bought a wired thermometer primarily for cooktop applications, not for anything that goes in the oven. Once received, I realized it didn't come with any kind of pot clip, so I ordered this. I've had metal pot clips for other thermometers, and they've had issues with either staying on the pot or the thermometer sliding down into the pot. This one does neither! Having a spare is also really nice. The slot where the clip slides onto the pot is just wide enough, and the silicone flexes where needed. I plan to use mainly with my stainless steel cookware, but I checked, and it will fit on a thicker rimmed dutch oven.

1) The opening for the pot is very thin, so this will not work for thick pots.2) I used my tall thermometer, but as the pot clip holder got hot, and it does get very hot, it loses its grip on the thermometer and it fell over. Granted my thermometer is top heavy, but even my shorter thermometers loosened up as the pot clip heated up and it could not securely hold the thermometer especially if you have to stir anything.3) The back side of the holder burnt from the heat off my gas burner. It never touched the flame directly, but the heat rolling up the side of the pot was enough to burn it.
