This cord reel is everything I wanted it to be. I have 100ft of 12/3 cord from Yellow Jacket and was struggling to find an economically feasible reel for it and decided to get this reel expecting to just put up with some dangling.To my surprise, even reeling up with no particular care was able to result in an organized cord. The power on the reel itself worked well. I was able to plug in a pressure washer into it and it worked fine.

If you are a contractor that throws your stuff around (or your crew does) get a metal one of these. This is really a home user model that really works well for that use. Reel your size extension cord on as per listed, some get a little more length on the plastic reel, but if you do that plan to keep it neat and tight to do so when you reel it on. When using it simply plug in your cord to outlet, and walk to where you need the plug ins while reeling the cord out, then set It down. Easy as that. If you're pulling the cable out while the reel is sitting on the ground, yea maybe...but it might tip over and you're really not using it correctly anyways. So don't bash the product due to your self created issue. Good product, does a good job when used correctly, and will be getting a couple more to keep things organized.

I originally ordered this on spec, since how the reel terminates wasnt shown (hard wired or plugged). Turns out you plug the electrical extension into the reel, place it in the attached guide (which other reels dont seem to have) and reel it in very easily. It easily held a 100 ft extension cord. I found this reel so well manufactured and useful I have ordered a second, probably of many. Just think how professionally a cable needs to be coiled (the over/under process, NEVER around your arm/elbow) it is much more efficient to use these reels. As a video production professional, the time saved in the many reels of a very long cables saves considerable time and serves to protect the cable from damage extending the useful life of expensive cables. I have purchased now two of these and will be buying more in the future for all our long electrical cables. In addition to a reel, this also provides 4 electrical outlets, an on/off switch and reset switch saving having an additional power strip.UPDATE- liked these reels to much I just purchased a third one. Remember theses are plastic, and while perfectly suitable for normal use, dont heave them in the back of a contractor truck and assume they will work, if then you should have bought the $140 steel modelingUpdate: purchased my third cord reel. It arrived in a amazon BAG not its original box, also missing the separately to install crank handle. Returned for a replacement and Amazon provided a replacement at no charge.

I had been searching for some cord management solutions while decluttering my garage this winter and after a lot of browsing and review reading I decided on this Dewenwils unit. The price for its feature and build quality seemed slightly above the other available options.The reel was packaged well and arrived undamaged. The base is sturdy and the walls of the reel are sturdy enough. Do they flex a bit? Sure. Did I feel like it was cheap or wouldn't do the job it was designed for? No. All I needed to do was screw on the reel handle and we were ready to go.I bought this reel specifically for a 100' 12/3 extension cord, and based upon a couple reviews it seemed possible. I will tell you it is possible, but it isn't easy and it's tedious which to me defeats the purpose of the reel in the first place. I would recommend this reel for any 12/3 cord up to 75'. To be clear the manufacturer doesn't claim the reel can support 100' of 12/3 so I can't ding the product for that.The only issue I've noticed so far is that some of my plugs don't seat completely into the outlets on the reel. A few cords stick out roughly 1/4", which is enough to give me a little discomfort. I probably wouldn't use this reel with any of those cords or tools in wet conditions just out of an abundance of caution, but that's about the only negative thing I can say.Overall it's a great reel and I'm happy with the purchase.

I bought this because I have an extension cord that's very long probably around 25 ft and it was always getting tangled every time I try to use it and I'd have nothing to try to organize it so I decided to purchase this cuz I saw it online and when I received it and put my extension cord on it it works like a charm really great if you have long extension cords and you need a real to organize the cable it also has multiple outlets so you can plug more accessories on it. Would recommend this purchase to anyone
