The belting was above expectations. It was very easy to fuse into a continuous loop and the clean the excess on a small grinder. I would highly reccommend the high performance urethane as opposed to any other general quality

I bought this to fix a piece of lab equipment and have never 'welded' urethane belt before. After one (successful) practice I made a good weld with a Bunsen burner and a piece of 1 1/2" aluminum angle. I heated both ends of the belt until they bulged about 50% wider than the rod, and were transparent. (Don't burn the urethane, it gives off a toxic gas). Then I aligned the two ends, pushing them into the corner of the aluminum angle and holding them still for 30 seconds. I tried cutting off the weld flashing with a razor but wound up 'grinding' it off with some coarse sandpaper. Don't be intimidated by those who say this is hard; the hardest part is keeping them aligned, and the aluminum angle was perfectly fine. Other ways might be good too, just practice a couple of times and go for it!
