This convenient compatibility gives rotary hammer users access to Makita’s extensive line of fastening accessories that are engineered for use in high-torque fastening applications, including impact Gold® and impactx™ insert bits, nutsetters, bit holders, impact sockets, and more. The adapter is for use in “rotation only” mode on rotary hammers, and is specially designed with a shorter shank that helps prevent damage from accidental use in “hammering with rotation” mode.

I bought the Makita B-59259 Adapter, SDS-PLUS to 1/4" Hex to use with my rotary hammer drill,The build quality is impressive; it provides a secure and dependable connection between my drill and 1/4" Hex accessories, specifically driver bits. I frequently use my rotary hammer with various bits, from chisels, to drill and driver bits, and this adapter makes the transition from one to another quick and seemless. Changing back to an SDS bit is just as quick.What sets this adapter apart is its versatility. I’ve tackled everything from chiseling tile to driving screws into wood. The adapter consistently delivers reliable performance. Works well but like any adapter you lose a little (vibration, power). But, I have it so it saves me bringing another drill along with my SDS if I'm putting in tapcons. Put in the adapter, the bit or nut driver and you're ready to go with just one drill.

works exactly as it's supposed to and arrived fast. Excellent value for a Makita brand ¼" hex to sds+ shank adapter. Tight tolerances, exactly as one would want with an adapter for using ¼" shank drill/hammer drill bits on an SDS+ rotohammer. Very well constructed, I expect it'll last. Would recommend.

I have a new Hitachi hammer drill. It has a setting for using it as a regular drill. However, since it requires sds-plus drill bits, it does limit my use of it unless I go buy all new drill bits (which is too expensive). This adapter let's me use my 1/4" hex set of drill bits and other screw heads. It is good quality and can't beat the price to extend the usefulness of my new drill.
