I would recommend this product to all home syrup makers. It works very well with the prefilters to give you clear syrup.

I just wasted a full day filtering syrup through these filters and bottling into small retail bottles and quart mason jars. Ive been making syrup for years now and I followed proper procedure and used several pre- filters. Every one of my bottles and jars has some amount of sugar sand/nIter in them. and now i realize the link on amazon for the company "brand" is "DCL", not "CDL". CDL sugaring equipment is a long established maple syrup supply catalog. I called CDL's customer service and turns out CDL does not sell products on amazon! This is a FAKE listing selling poorly made filters and the filters do not work well enough to remove all sugar sand/niter. Do not buy!!!

We didn't take pictures, but after we first produced four gallons of syrup about a week ago, using one previously owned filter, we bought this one because we weren't happy about the about of nitre in our syrup. For the second run, we re-heated syrup to 185 and used an inner liner. It worked great! Not sure about comments about "fake" product. This is clearly marked that it comes from Roth Sugar Bush in Wisconsin. You can find it on their web site, and it is cheaper than on Amazon (not sure what their shipping is). No complaints. Easy to wash. We had to wash out the filter once in between our re-filtering process.
