I've used this to climb up my 45 degree metal roof a number of times, and it works great.Can not compare to other brands, but this unit seems robust, I'm about 180 lbs.

Really came in handy when I was using a winch to lower some cut tree branches. These allow you to grab the rope anywhere and get a good grip on it. Has holes in the top and bottom to attach to whatever you need

I got these ascenders to use while hunting to access my tree stand. I really like them for the price. And would compare them to my other name brand ones I use in the fire service. I use a prusiik for a safety so I’m not concerned about being an off brand. They both slide nice on the rope and haven’t need to weight the line even when starting from the ground. I do wish the connection of the foot loop for the hand ascender was different. Needing to connect it with a beaner is noisy, a waste of a beaner and could have just been a webbing loop on a girth hutch.
