Great replacement head unit that finally brings Apple CarPlay to my older vehicle.Installation was easy, but as you;d expect the hardest part is getting everything open to be able to remove the OEM head unit. Once you get that dug out and sort out the wiring (the instructions are great, but online has any resources if you need them for your specific model/year), it goes in nicely, securely, and looks very nice when the dash is reassembled.Setting up to work with CarPlay was pretty easy and works well. It is tough to switch between multiple paired phones, especially choosing one if both are in the car. If my wife and I are both going to be in the car the driver either needs to get in and start things up first, or the other person has to go into Airplane mode until the other phone pairs up.So much better to use CarPlay in my vehicle. Playing music is a breeze and there are adjustments to the EQ in the head unit to set up the sound you like. Also there is a way to independently adjust the volume between music and navigation responses.

Quick conversion to bring your car forward 10 years. Does it work perfect all the time? No - requires resetting thigns every once in a while, but for the cost, it is a must upgrade! (iOS 18 has a bunch of bugs causing audio quality issues on ALL CarPlay devices, don't hold it against this headunit, it is not the problem. Clearing the bluetooth pairing and re-approving CarPlay will help but isn't permanent and you will have to do it again when the quality decides to drop again. Turning off voice accessibility features will help some of you, Hopefully Apple will get their ever decreasing act together to get this addressed.) I definitely recommend staying with models above 4GB RAM for better video playback for those looking to play offline movies from USB. More on that note, they can only support h264 or lower quality (no x265, no av1). The benefit of this adapted screen is that there is a decent amount of development on them, only the bezel and frame are customized to the specific car. Getting deep into the settings to get the best experience/sound quality does take someone with some technological know how and not every seller provides the factory security code to get into those settings so ask for it immediately after purchase if not in the instructions. Comes with everything for a plug and play experience, though someone that doesn't know what they are doing will probably be overwhelmed. That's not a product problem, that's a user problem. Plug everything in even if it doesn't make sense as there are wires that act like antenna (and they need to point up for you folks claiming connection problems). CanBus box pulls power and signal from the single power input so it looks like its not doing anything, but it is and must be connected to get steering wheel controls, door open notifications, and on some, backup camera switching, etc.. Any of you putting on a bench test and claiming no power, these are very voltage sensitive, they will go into auto protect and prevent power on if not in the correct range. Too much and you will short them out before the fuse pops, ask me how I know. Boomers that struggle to even get their email to work on a good day probably need to avoid trying to use these. It is a computer and requires troubleshooting from time to time.
