After carefully drilling out the stock leg brace rivets (and using a flexible hacksaw between the braces and the hull to finish removing the rivets once they were loose) these were easy to install and are much more comfortable than the stock braces (stock braces sitting on the hull in one of my review pics). You'll need a rivet tool if you have a sit on top kayak, but I ordered one for $15 and after that it was easy.

I purchased and installed two sets of the adjustable foot braces, one on a sit-on kayak (Rally 100XP) and one in a sit-in kayak (Mustang 120X EXO). Each kit came with clear instructions and hardware for both types of kayak. The Mustang used the Phillips screws, while the Rally used the included pop rivets. The holes lined up exactly with those left from removing the fixed foot braces, but I added the additional center mount screw in the Mustang for some peace of mind. Total time to install both kayaks was about an hour, but I took it slowly and carefully.Tools needed were:Sit In: Phillips screwdriver, drill and 3/16" bitSit On: drill and 3/16" bit, pop rivet gunI also used a light in the inside of the Mustang so I could see it coming through the mounting holes and line up the rails properly during install.Great product. Thanks, Pelican!

I got tired of the non-adjustable foot rests on my Pelican Covert 12’ making my ankles sore where they hit them. Drilled out the three rivets holding them in and the adjustable brace fit perfectly over the holes. Put a dab of silicone on each hole and used the enclosed rivets to secure them. These are plastic but they lock up tight. Been very happy with them on the past two paddling trips.

After removing the old “zig zag” foot rests that came in my kayak, these went on pretty easy. I had to drill out the rivets from the old rests and then rivet these in the holes that were used for the old rests. These are straight and my kayak curves a bit, so they don’t fit up snug against the side. There’s a small gap in the center of the rails that the rests sit on, but it’s no big deal to me. They are kinda cheap plastic though, so I hope they last. But I’m happy that I have adjustable foot rests now.

These things are awesome. The ease to install them was great… but a bit misleading. Installing was great…. Once I had the proper tools (rivet gun) and had quit pulling my hair out trying to remove the old footrests. But that isn't their fault. Well, actually it kind of is since the old ones were also Pelican brand. I have a Pelican Blitz100X that had AWFUL footrests that actually caused me to have a sore on my calf because they rubbed me so bad. After I finally got the old rivets drilled out and the holes plugged up the install of these new ones was quite simple. I have much more leg room and they aren’t rubbing me on the calves.I would recommend this product and if I get another kayak I will look for this type foot rest again…though I hope I don’t have to ever change them out on this current kayak again.

This product is Made in Canada and the excellent build quality shows. The product shows it is for both Sit on Top and Sit in Kayaks. There are 3 types of fasteners: 2 Sets of Screws and 1 Set of Pop Rivets. The are a total of 3 holes per Side for a total of 9 fasteners altogether. Everything you need is included and the plastic is well made and looks like it will last. I used the longer black screws and had no issues. No Silicone or sealant was used and has not leaked so far. This looks as though it would fit other kayaks as well since the plastic is Semi-rigid and will conform to the curvature of the kayak's hull.I would recommend this for sit-in kayaks that do not have foot pegs.

These were easy to install and a perfect fit for my Pelican Blitz 100X EXO. With these installed, I have so much more leg room and am able to sit with my feet more upright, making for a much more comfortable experience. Despite what the description says, these will work for certain models of Pelican set-on kayaks as well. Those models being the Castaway 100, the Sentinal 100X, and the Blitz 100X EXO. Drilling the rivets out of the factory foot rests was a bit of a pain, as they have a tendency to start spinning (because they are installed in plastic instead of metal), but installing the new rivets is simple and easy. While I can't speak for every kayak, my personal one was already pre-marked with little dimples that line up to with the holes on these foot rests. So not measuring was required. Just drilling out to the right size and riveting these into place.
