I wanted a basic cheese grater that would be easier to use than my box grater and not take up a lot of cabinet space. Thus, when I saw the SALT Stainless Steel Flat Coarse Grater listed for under $5.00, I thought this is exactly what I was look for and in my price range too.Well, it does grate cheese but there are a lot of caveats regarding the grater itself. It is awkward to hold because the rubber grip handle slips out of position; it is not sturdy enough and moves and bends during the grating process; it only grates thick cheese, not thinly grated because of the size of the holes; and, it is not strong enough to grate carrots, potatoes, etc. Alas, my trusty box grater has proven itself irreplaceable.

Compared here to an old grater. I like the size and how close the holes are together. It is sturdy and I think will last a long time. The frame is NOT one solid loop but I hope that won't matter in the long run.

I have used this grater quite a bit now. It cleans up nicely, and just heavy duty enough. I know I will be able to use this grater for a long time.

For the price this can’t be beat. It feels like great quality, has a nice weight to it, and does the job.I’m not convinced a more expensive one could even be better.

Love this grater, very solid and firm, and the rubber stops it slipping. Have ought his style in the past and it was flimsy and bent etc. But this is 'grate' (pun intended) and also a great price

Lol it's a grater so there isn't much to review however it is very sturdy, sharp and easy to clean and easy to use.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use and clean. The black silicone starts to slide on the handle a little bit after a while, but it doesn't really effect the grip.

I got this grater to shred tofu, and it’s perfect! The holes are thick, so be warned if you want a finer shred, but I also love thick shredded cheese.I specifically wanted a grater that laid flat to fit in our random kitchen tools drawer, and the handle provides a great non-slip grip, which is perfect for my smaller hands. I’ve only ever had the big, bulky six-sided grater, and I hated it. This one is ideal for easy storage and handling. It’s super easy to clean, which is a huge plus for me. I’ve used it a bunch already, and it still looks like new. I’m really impressed with how sturdy it feels too. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this grater—it’s everything I needed and more!
