The inserts fall apart. Might be fine threading soft material. I honestly needed the tool holder. I get my inserts from McMaster.

Very good threading tool for the home shop machinist.Threaded 4 3/4-16 bolts no problem. With lots of extra inserts it should last a long time.

Did not like at first then found that you do not remove the ceramic holder you just put the insert on top of it. Worked great to make 1 1/4-12 threads

I just used this tool yesterday to cut a 1/2 x 13 thread. I like this tool. And the price was good. I had to wait a little time for it. But well worth. It. It’s far better that I was expecting. It fit my Grizzly tool holder very well.
