Was new and in box as promised. Revived an older high volume scanner when the other 29160 bit the dust after 8 years. Great deal too!

Exactly as described. Postage a bit eye-watering from the US, but arrived on time and still cost less than a local provider was trying to extort.

I was looking for a scsi card that would read my old DEC Alpha VMS disks. The disks were the old scsi disks ie 1GB and 4GB RL26N AND RZ29B. Not only did this card read the disk faith fully, I was able to boot the disk copy using the emulator that I had loaded into windows. This card loaded up into windows 7 (64bit) with no problems, Adaptec software drivers worked with no problems. I have not used the EZscsi software as I had other software to use. This products allowed me to move forward in restoring old software development software. It worked right out of the box, no configuring needed to be done. I am ecstatically happy!

One of the caps was knocked off the motherboard so I returned it. I picked a different card and it worked well. Return was easy. The vendor handled it well and I bought the replacement from them.

The Adaptec SCSI card was easy to install and worked fine with all my old equipment. I did have to buy a conversion cable to use it with old equipment but they all worked well.I recomend this card for any one who is still using SCSI equipment

This review is not a pan on the 29160 or those who sell it. It is more a an FYI for those seeking old tech:I was tasked to build a computer that runs a Seiko Color Painter 64S. The 64S only connects with SCSI (Ultra 160)because it is 8 years old. So it was a challenge to make a computer that can run new age rip software from Onyx with (Core i7 requirements) while still being able to utilize a SCSI connection for the 8 year old printer. Looking at adaptec's website tells you they support the card and have a Win 7 64 bit driver. Unknown to me, Onyx 10.2 requires ASPI software to communicate with the Printer... Funny thing about Adaptec is their lack of support for ASPI software in Windows Vista, 7, 8 and Server 2003 +. So, on site during the install, we had to "Dumb" the computer down to windows XP because XP mode in Win 7 can only see USB connected devices and not SCSI. SO beware, if you are using a device the requires ASPI in a Windows 7 environment you will be out of luck. Frog ASPI didn't help in my situation either. Once the computer had Windows XP 32 bit (Eww)and ASPI installed, the card performed beautifully in it's prison of 10 year old OS-ness.

12 years twelve years of uninterrupted use, has been one of the best purchases, my old PC still works, not like now, but it is worth mentioning that thanks to technology that I used at that time even joy of their benefit, but is only used to browse and check my social networks, the SCSI card handles my HardDisk without apparent fatigue.
