I have one and had to get my daughter one, too. Great quality. Easy to use.

I bought 2, one for the freezer and one for the fridge. First thing I put them side by side in the fridge and then the freezer to check their accuracy. They passed the test. We have Faberware pots and kitchen tools going back almost 50 years. We've never been disappointed with any.

I'm only giving this 2 stars because it's a complete price gouge! This is simply a piece of thin paper with printed temperatures on it stuck inside a glass tube with a dot of mercury at the tip. There's a clip on it that slides up and down so you can attach the thermometer to the side of a pot but the clip is weak and doesn't hold well. There's also a plastic cylinder that comes with but I don't know what purpose that serves - it certainly doesn't provide protection when storing the thermometer in the drawer because it doesn't fit securely. A total rip-off for $16.00!!

Described size is the size of the package it came in. Actual size is 2 1/2 X 3 X 3/8 as near as I can measure, just about the same as the typical oven thermometer. There are no color coded temperature zones as pictured. Except for the company name, it's plain white with black numbers. Readability is no better than any other oven thermometer I looked at. I had hoped the larger size described ( 5 1/2 X 3 3/4 ) would make it easier to read through the oven door.Calibration of a new oven's temperature is a work in progress so accuracy of this item is, for the time being, unknown.

As I don't use this for food,,, it works GREAT for car heater outlet temps. If you want to check the "heat" output, that vent is on the floor and you cant read a stick thermometer, ditto for the defrost. It is certainly accurate enough too. The battery lasts quite a long time,,, as i never shut it off. I actually will now get one to use on my steaks.

After only 3 uses it clouded up and was impossible to read. The readout was too thin anyway, you had to almost stick your face into a steaming pot to see the thin meter. Had to keep adjusting the glass tube position, the side clip is poorly designed and the tube's bottom tip leans against the inside of the pot. The thin glass tube beaded inside with moisture, water leaks into the cheap rubber top when you clean it and ruins the product. The plastic storage tube is constructed better than the thermometer.. These chintzy things don't last long anyway -- they have their nerve charging two times the price of their cheapo competitors.

I have yet to come across a thermometer, whatever its purpose or design, that does not work. And so it was with this one, the Faberware. It is an indispensable piece for anyone who makes yoghurt at home. And I make a lot of yogurt and quite frequently to make smoothies or shakes, to make frozen yoghurt, to replace the use of cream in all the recipes. And there is no way that I can gauge the narrow permissible temperature range at which the cooling milk is ready to accept the yoghurt starter, without a functioning thermometer. And a day without yoghurt in at least one form, is not a proper and complete day. At least in my life.

Es un termómetro pequeño pero cumple muy bien su función.Esta bien construido, solo hay que tener cuidado al tocar el contorno ya que es algo filoso. Muy práctico!

Good product. I go through these periodically over the years making candy, primarily. This one appears to be accurate which is not always the case with other brands.
