Good product will hold the smallest size rope and a 5 ft fall at 200lbWould suggest going with a bigger rope size just to keep it more centered in the device

Max weight is 100kg, so I'm a bit disheartened at the weight limit, as I was sure it would be much higher. but for gear hauling it is still a decent product. If you're looking for a serious climbing device this likely wouldn't be it with that weight rating. Stick with a rolling lock, of a Ropeman device instead, would be my advice. But still this does work, for far lighter people. Would I trust it as my soul device. NO....likely not. But as a series of devices, maybe. Very debatable at this point, but will know more over time.

Very nice unit and I feel safe using it to stop my fall if it happens.

Excellent in combination with dyneema rope for a safety line on scaffold. Slides well, but even with thinner than specified rope, holds my weight. The lift mechanism to go the other direction is easy to use with one finger. No noticeable rope damage. Leery of no name brands, I wouldn't use it for hard climbing without more testing, but so far, so good.

This item appears to be a knock off of the CAMP Lift ascender. It has worked as designed for several solo outings for me though I have never taken a fall on it, I have tested it several times and it has done well with a chest harness.

Got this because it was good value. For what I am using it for, (light duty roof maintenance DIY) it may last a long time.

I got this ascender for saddle hunting. I was a little leary of this ascender, it is inexpensive and I just worried that it might be junky. Pulling it out of the packaging, my fears were not relieved - it seems a little.... ...I don't know - basic, I guess. But I tried it out a couple feet off the ground tethered to a tree, and it works like a charm. I got to the point that I was standing sideways perpendicular to the tree with both feet against it, and this thing did not budge. Then I was swinging around the tree like a pendulum over and over putting extra load on the ascender each time I switched direction. Again it was perfect. Took a moment to get the rope to slide free after putting so much load on it, but it freed up and slide the way it is supposed to, no problem at all. I am going to buy another.

I bought this for a small & light weight Rope Grip. It is the most compact ascender or rope grip I have purchased! It follows freely up a rope & locks when carabiner eye hole is pulled downwards.I plan to use it with a safety rope on my extension ladders. (As is done on industrial ladders.)I will also use it for a chest ascender & safety rope grip when doing tree work.Ed.

Planned to use this as a safety catch on a dedicated safety line for a 100' rope climb training. The quality seems low and I don't know if I will trust my life to this. The design is ok, but the pins are tiny and material has a weird pock-marked surface pattern that would be hard to tell if a crack started. Reminds me of pot-metal in the 80's. I wish there was a quality version but I haven't found one.
