Works well for livescope transducer pole. I'm always impressed with how rigid these are. A size D system would be great for a transducer pole, but as far as I can tell, it's not currently an option. The extra stability from the 2.25" ball would be nice.Make sure you check and double check the length needed for your application. Some listed measurements are the length between balls, others are total arm length.

Purchase a Ram mount set to hold a hitachi wand in place for my wife. Was amazed at how well 3 sections of the Ram mount was able to hold several pounds in place. Wife wasn’t in to it. Not sure what to do with these pieces but I’m sure I’ll find a use.

I didn't realize it when I ordered this but is is made of metal and has a very heavy and sturdy feel to it. I recently ordered this RAM Mounts Double Socket RAM-201U-D Compatible with RAM C Size Long Arm to attach to a RAM Mounts RAP-400U Tough-Claw Small Clamp Ball Base with C Size 1.5" Ball to mount my LiveScope on my kayak. I learned after using the B size parts that it was not sturdy enough and the B size balls kept breaking. After installing the C size units it works perfectly.

What I like about this brand/product. Is that its not made cheap. I work on traffic lights so I am in my vehicle alot. I use this brand to hold my phone to the window with a suction cup. And use this brand to hold my laptop on a stand from the floor. It holds devices firmly, but easy to get out by hand. I have used the same set up for my phone for about 2 years.

•Most of the time they use a different kind of rubber for the balls that have a metal base than they do for the composite ones•They are also a slightly different size• The metal ones use a natural rubber that compresses and deforms when it is clamped & this locks them in place• The composite based balls use a rubber that is formed at a lower temperature so that the composite doesn’t melt. This rubber is much harder ( so for the most part it doesn’t compress and deform to lock it in place) It is stickier and relies on friction•If you find the ball is moving in the arm even when it’s very tight then You might want to change to aluminium or composite depending which one you are useing•It’s been my experience that sometimes you should use the composite arms with the composite balls and use the aluminium arms with the metal based balls for the most secure connection• The pics show how the metal base balls compress when tightened• sometimes no matter how hard I tighten the aluminium arm the composite based ball moves• sometimes when I use a composite arm or clamp the metal based ball would not compress enough and it would moveHOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL
