Arrived on time. This product was recommended by DHEC. It is not used with bleach, only chemical sanitizers. Very easy to use

I can’t speak to the accuracy or durability of this thermometer because there is a major design flaw that I can’t believe no one else has mentioned… If your oven is below eye level, which I think 99% are, the bezel obscures the numbers so they are unreadable. Bending over and looking is not sufficient, I had to practically sit on the floor to be able to read the numbers. No good.

I purchased this to monitor my cars ac vent temperature. We live in the hot desert and it helps diagnose if your AC system may need to be recharged based on vent temperature. It came with a battery ready to go. Turn it on and it's working. Great little thermometer.

Works well for what I wanted! I use it to achieve consistant temperature steaming milk for my latte - I did not test the temperature to see if it's accurate, but it is consistant which is what I care about. I get predictable temp every time.

The recommended way to sanitize a coronavirus mask according to the co-designer of the NIOSH N95 mask is to expose it to 160 degree heat for 30 minutes. Put each mask in a paper bag and hang it so it doesn't touch the metal racks. Don't put the bags right over the heating elements. Keep them close to the thermometer since ovens are usually irregular. Most modern ovens can't be set below 170 degrees & even then will continue to rise to 200 unwatched. You have to keep the door cracked to keep adjusting to 160. Hover over the range for the 30 minutes, checking regularly and adjusting the cracked door to keep the temp at 160. A little to hot ruins N95 masks or shortens their reusability lifespan and not hot enough doesn't do the trick. This thermometer is large, easy to read and gives the temperature in 10 degree gradients - most give it in 25 degree gradients, which allows for too much error. During COVID - and for ordiinary oven baking(!) - this is a great product for the price.

This review is based on appearance only I have not taken the thermometer out of its packaging because I will be returning it. I suppose it will perform satisfactorily, but my principal requirement in an oven thermometer is a large and easy-to-read face. It is described as a 3” dial, but in fact, not counting the casing sides, the visible portion is 2.5”. And, for older folks like me with failing eyesight, there is too much unnecessary detail cluttering up the face. The bold face numbers are a help, but if they were placed closer to the circumference, they would be easier to read.I ordered the the Winco along with the Taylor Precision Products Classic Series Large Dial Thermometer (https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Classic-Large-Dial-Thermometer/dp/B0000DJUYR/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1521670914&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=Taylor+Precision+Products+Classic+Series+Large+Dial+Thermometer&psc=1), which is described as a 3.5” face. It, too, is not that large, but it is at least 0.25” larger than the Winco, And the face is less cluttered. It adds up to being a much more legible instrument. In my opinion, it is worth the extra approx.. $1.50.I photographed them side by side so that you can judge for yourself.

I've been using this thermometer now for just over 3 years for candy making (caramels, seafoam, marshmallows, butterscotch etc) making about 50 batches combined throughout the holiday season. I've had other thermometers which have exploded or broken easily, but this one holds up very well and is very accurate which isn't the case with most of them. The only thing that I can think of that is wrong with it is that the thermometer doesn't go quite down far enough (which is actually a good thing most of the time) but it can make it hard to submerge in the candy when making things like seafoam that need to be made in a pan to large for it so it can expand properly.I want to get another one just because it works so well! Then I could double my output of candy!
