Bought to track oil temp for deep frying has a clip to hold to the side of the pot. Loop at the top to easily grab it and a metal housing protecting the glass thermometer.Has markings for the candy stages if I ever want to make hard candies or fudge.

I bought this years ago, so here’s my delayed review with the test of time- it’s still going strong. I love this brand for smaller kitchen tools, and this thermometer proves they earn that reputation. Easy and clear to read, easy to clean by hand, gets a read on temperature quickly and accurately. If I had to buy another candy thermometer, I’d buy this one again. But this one is so good, I don’t think I’ll ever need to. Great investment. Not likely to break because of the solid design. And easy to fit on most pots.

I really like this thermometer. Well designed, easy to read and the clip to attach it to the pot works well and is adjustable. It is a little bigger that I expected, but that's ok.

Thermometer already had separated when it arrived. Couldn't return it to Amazon, and it's difficult trying to get any replacement/refund from Oxo. Avoid or, or get it somewhere else.

The clip is nice, and very functional. The thermometer is easy to use and to read. I used it for frying. I would just use my hand hovering over the pot or chopstick trick to see if the oil was hot enough. It was 100 degrees off, so that’s why my potato donuts took so long to fry. The brand is reliable and the price is reasonable.

Just got this to replace my old one as I was tired of having to add 12 degrees F each time. Very sturdy, easy to read and accurate. I made a double batch fudge that turned out so good I made another batch of Drambuie fudge.

I have been wanting to get one of these for quite some time but just never did. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get one when I was planning some Christmas baking and I am so glad I did! It's very sturdy and accurate and was extremely helpful in getting my sugar up to the perfect temperature. Would definitely recommend.
