The RAM-B-166-UN8U consists of a 3.3" diameter RAM Twist-Lock suction cup base, medium length double socket arm, and the popular spring-loaded RAM X-Grip 7"-8" tablet holder. The RAM X-Grip features an 'X' design that expands and contracts to provide a perfect fit for your device – even if it's in a case. Included are easy access grip knobs located on the back of the cradle for quick release of your tablet. No matter what double socket arm and mounting base you pair the RAM X-Grip with, RAM ball and socket technology allows for near-infinite adjustability to achieve the ideal viewing angle – while also extending the life of your phone by providing shock and vibration damping. The X-Grip tablet holder includes a device tether recommended for added security and peace of mind. This version of the X-Grip holder is compatible with tablets that will fit the dimensions listed. It is important to verify the dimensions of device with its case, sleeve, or skin when determining the overall size.
Proper Suction Cup Installation
Step 1: Thoroughly Clean Surface
Using glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth, thoroughly clean the desired area you wish to install the mount.
Step 2: Push Suction Cup Onto Surface
Push the suction cup base onto the surface and push against the glass while holding the twist lock to the OFF position. It is crucial you hold the base firmly and flush against the glass to ensure proper suction.
Step 3: Twist to Lock
While continuing to hold the suction base flush against the glass, use your thumb and index finger to twist the lock to the ON position. Tug on the base a little to make sure it is suctioned to the surface and not loose
Step 4: Attach Socket Arm & Holder
Attach any B size socket arm to the base and your desired device holder to complete your mount installation.

I use an old tablet to visualize real-time data from my cars. Mounting the tablet is not a challenge for this Ram mount.The mount is strong and rugged. It has no trouble holding the tablet in multiple cars. Worth the money!

Love this mount! Super reliable, and easy to use. We use it for my daughter iPad on road trips and it never fails. Easy to figure out, fits an iPad mini just perfect! Withstands the vibrations in the car just fine!

I love how easy this ram iPad mount is to use, it’s sturdy and doesn’t move during flight. The suction cup is powerful and hasn’t dropped even during temperature fluctuations. Once the position is set, you only have to stick it to the window and remove when done. Getting my iPad off of my leg, off of the yoke, has allowed me to be more focused on flying and less on worrying about if I’ve accidentally hit the iPad screen and moved my position.

What an awesome tool. I use it to hold my iPad while flying using foreflight. I also use it to mount my iPad to the kitchen counter where I sit alot of times to study and watch YouTube or in my car. Easy to use, quality material and well worth the price!!

This is a great mount for the iPad mini. Throughout my instrument training I found this was invaluable to me as it meant ai could have the iPad at eye level while flying the plane. Very easy to use and adjust and the suction cup was very strong.

This product is awesome. I’ve been looking for something to mount my iPad on flights so it’s up high and not on my legs. I didn’t want one that mounts to the yoke because I want it to remain stationary. I can spend more time with my eyes outside the cockpit instead of looking down and quickly reference my tablet while doing my instrument cross checks. The one I got has no axial rotation and the tablet stays put. If you have rotation on the base like others have had, I would return it and exchange it for another one. The arm is the perfect length, I can mount it in front of my ADS-B receiver and I don’t have to worry about it getting in the way of the yoke. I may have to play around with it a little bit to find the perfect spot to mount it so it’s not interfering with any instruments, but I’m happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone.

Does all the stuff it's known for very well. In particular the X-arms have finger tabs behind the tablet that allows you to squeeze and release it. One irritating problem is that with a 7" tablet there is about 10 deg. of free ration at the X clamp. Inexplicably all that suction and awesome adjustments, but X arm portion floops around and the tablet won't stay horizontal.
